tourney. Find out who local billiard champion is
going to be. Tourney can be as big and take in as much territory
as is practicable.
Bridge
club. Group meets regularly, weekly or monthly.
Refreshments served every meeting or only monthly, as desired. Emphasis
should be on fun and fellowship. Special attention might be given
to beginners and new members.
Bridge
tournament. Big affair probably sponsored by club
which takes tickets, furnishes prizes and refreshments, and arranges
for publicity before event and for winners afterward.
Checkers.
Not necessarily old man's game. Boys especially enjoy it. Good activity
for indoor camp. Enthusiasts may form club where this is practicable,
or nucleus may meet for informal play on drop-in basis.

tournament. Something to get excited about. At least
that's what happens when champion is being found. Publicity is key
to success.
Chess.
Tends to be only activity, but there is no law against
making it part of program. Old enthusiasts are likely to sit quietly
and play for hours, thinking so hard there is no noise in room except
that of mental wheels going round. Why not invite those who have
never played to learn?
Circle
table tennis. Any number can play. Person who knocks
ball over must give his paddle to next one in line. Entire group
rotates around tennis table.
Croquet.
Dart baseball.

rules by searching the internet.
Darts.
There are several games of darts. Good for any number
to play singly, as partners, or as teams.
Marbles.
Might stage marbles tournament for boys or for boys and girls, with
publicity, crowd, judges and prizes and honors for winners.
Michigan
poker. Easily learned and is good for whole evening
or series of evenings. Can be played by odd number at table. Matches
or toothpicks should be used as money. Rules can be found in books
of games.
Military
bridge. Form of progressive whist that does not
require expertness in players. Director guides players and helps
them. Sociability and visiting more important than card skill. Refreshments,
prizes, and door prizes.
Ping-pong
tournament. Try to find champions in each classification,
people of similar ages playing against each other. Awards for winners
of each classification.
Table
tennis. Table tennis club to develop skill might
be formed
Table
bowling. In any space available use empty quart-sized
cardboard cartons as pins and rubber ball for bowling ball. Score
as in regular bowling.
Table
football. Box representing football gridiron may
be bought or made. Welcome addition to game room.
Table
shuffleboard. Adaptation of standard game. Use wooden
disks and shoot with fingers. Court may be painted on floor of game
room if desired.
